Diamondbacks vs. Giants

As soon as I got back, I was back to my busy schedule. On Saturday, our young adults group headed to SF to watch the Giants lose to the Diamondbacks. It was tons of fun. This is crazy, 2 posts in one day. There's pictures from my SD trip below these pictures.

My week in San Diego...

I had great fun this past week in San Diego. It was SUPER relaxing as I got to hang out, and read while the family was all at work. I really enjoyed that. I finished books 1, 2 and 3 of the Twilight Series. If you haven't started reading yet, you should. I am counting down until this Saturday when book 4 comes out. I got to play cards on Sunday with the whole family, saw Mamma Mia with my mom and the Rachels. It was fun hanging out with both Rachels, I always enjoy seeing them. I also got to see a lot of my grandma and parents (both sides). On Thursday we headed out to the Del Mar horseraces, where I proceeded to lose ltos of money, but it was still lots of fun! Overall, I had a pretty great first week of summer! Enjoy the pictures.
*Also...forgot to mention that I have been having a lot of problems with my right foot (the same one I broke a few years ago). I am pretty sure I have a stress fracture from training for the Wharf to Wharf(which I couldn't run because of my foot :( Please be praying...I'm seeing a podiatrist on Thursday!

Garbage!

A very important blog reader was really sad that I didn't tell you all that Rachel and I are playing Garbage at her house with the whole family!

I'm excited to beat everyone. Should be fun. It sounds a lot like phase 10. Check it out.

Holy summer Batman!

Yeah, yeah, I know I've "technically" been on summer break since June 6th. BUT I've been teaching summer school, so my break officially starts tomorrow at 1:30! yay! I am SO excited to be done. Right after school, I'm taking a few students to the Boardwalk to celebrate. Nothing beats the Giant Dipper on a Friday afternoon. There's a picture of the giant dipper on the top of my blog.

After we get back, I'm going out to dinner and a movie with a fun group of friends. We are giong to see the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight. I haven't really seen anyone of the other ones, and I think Heath Ledger looks a little scary in it, but it should be fun.

Also, I just got started reading the Twilight series. I was talking to the people at Borders, and they're saying it could be almost as big as Harry Potter. They're even having a midnight release party for the fourth one, coming out in August. It's about high schoolers and a group of vampires, at least that's what I hear. I'm only on chapter 3 and I'm already hooked. It took everything I had to put it down last night, so that I could get some sleep! I'll let you know how I like it.

Saturday morning, I head off to San Diego to hang with the family and my friends for the weeks. Rachel Tanner is also coming down to visit! We are going to be going to the Del Mar horse races, hanging out and I'm cutting my hair! Short? or maybe not? we'll see....

New favorite blogs...

My wonderful friend Melissa pointed me to these new favorite blogs:

http://stufffchristianslike.blogspot.com/

Both blogs are written by the same person. This one is about daily things in the Christian faith or in the church. He puts a hilarious spin on them, and says everything we are always thinking. The blog sparks a lot of debate, and I love getting into it. I have always thought a good sense of humor is soooo important. Check it out.

This one is a daily devotion, written by the same guy. He is going through Genesis right now. I enjoy it.

Hope you have a great Tuesday!

Visits to Santa Cruz and Jessi's wedding

I'm updating this while at work. :) We have a special teacher in today, so she told me to relax, which is what I'm doing. :) Just thought I'd share some pictures from last week. Cassie, Rachel and Shakira came to visit Santa Cruz....and then on Sunday, we all went to Jessi and Martin's wedding in Aptos. Saturday was full of fun downtown and at the boardwalk. I enjoyed the weekend, and enjoyed hearing all about Cassie's trip to the Phillipines. If you know her, you should ask her about it! enjoy the pictures!

Trusting in Him

When it rains it pours. All too true.

I have been getting an awesome crash course in trusting the Lord lately. I know he will provide, but I don't always trust Him.

I'm working on losing weight, getting in shape, am having some difficulties financially, AND my car got broken into last night. My driver's side window is broken into millions of little pieces. It was the icing on the cake. I lost it, while on the phone with my mom, and then moved on pretty quickly. Money is money, that's all it is. Worrying about it doesn't get me anywhere.

So, although I may be tired and not in such a great mood today, I am trusting in Him to provide for my needs and give me peace. He is good!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July to everyone! I hope you get to have a fun and relaxing day with your loved ones! Although our 4th of july will be without fireworks (we have had about 8 fires in the last 3 weeks), I am looking forward to spending the day with some of my loved ones. I'm having 8 or 9 friends over to BBQ, play wii, relax and just fellowship. I am so blessed to have these people to spend holidays with! (I do, however, dearly miss my other 2 families!)

It is hard to believe that there are only 9 days of summer school left. That means that summer is going by WAY to fast. After the first week of summer school choas was over, it has actually been enjoyable. I love my homeroom class, and just found out I don't have to teach at all for the last week of school...because there is a special anti-drug program coming in. woo!

Last weekend, I went down to SLO to visit the fam. They are moving in a month or so, so it would be my last visit to them there. Do I have to change it to my OC fam now? ;) It was a fun time of catching up and playing games. It was a blast to have Christy there, too. On Mon, Tues and Wed Christy was here visiting. It was a ton of fun to have her for so long!
On Wednesday, night at 10:00 pm (i know...Im getting too old for that) I went with some friends to see Wanted. I haven't laughed at a movie like that in awhile...and no, it wasn't a comedy. A little to corny for an assassin movie...and a little too much blood for my taste. Probably doesn't help that I'm not an Angelina Jolie fan in the first place!

Yesterday, I took a couple students to the boardwalk, and Mel and Andrew came with. It was an awesome time, although it was super hot! I love the boardwalk, no matter how many times I go! I should have done homework after, but Melissa and I decided to watch Definitely, Maybe instead. If you haven't seen it, you should! It's sooo cute (plus good eye candy!).

I am looking forward to August when I get paid for summer school so that I get a camera...so there will be more pictures to post! sorry!
